Blue Folk Art style Bird Hanging decoration
I love making hanging decorations. It’s as if some of my illustrated elements have just flown out of my illustrations to have a life of their own.
I use my painted collage, hand-printed artwork style for these, carried out on thick Bockingford Watercolour card. There are two layers with a ribbon and hanger, finished with glass bead.. I double varnish each side and the edges so they are waterproof.
For indoors use only.
This design is 11cm long and 9cm wide. It is hand-painted in white paint, then the line artwork is scored with a sharp point , with finished ‘etched look’ line in turquoise acrylic paint. The back is painted in dark turquoise with my artists signature in white penline. I have hand sewn the details on the bird’s body in silver thread for a textural feel and the eye is a mother of pearl style button and bead.
It comes in a biodegradable cello bag with special printed gift and information card.
